This paper was presented by Philip Mann to the Germanic & Continental European Group (GCE)
of the South Australian Genealogy & Heraldry Society Inc (SAGHS) on 9 October 2024. It tells the story of my maternal line which, over a century, moved from Schwartzbrunn in Bohemia to Buccleuch in South Australia. I will give a brief history and geography lesson before discussing the lives of the women in this line and some anomalies that can arise in the genealogical search from what one would assume are reliable sources.
